Maddie
In her fourth year sailing for LJHS, Maddie is excited to sail and gain experience to pursue her sailing career in college.
Katie
She began sailing on a lake in Vienna, Austria. Now, having raced in regattas in California, she is looking forward to sailing with LJHS for her second year.
Maggie
In her second year with LJHS, Maggie has been racing for over seven years and is looking forward to PCISA High School regattas.
Malia
She's looking forward to sailing for her second year with LJHS, racing, and learning more! Malia loves sailing and coded this website.
Forrest
In his first year sailing for LJHS, most of Forrest's previous experience is focused on lasers.
Makenna
In her first year sailing for LJHS, Makenna is excited to sail with the team.
Arielle
Having sailed at MBYC last year and practiced with LJHS, Arielle is now excited for her first year on the team and many competitions.
Sydney
In her first year with LJHS, Sydney was first exposed to sailing on her family's boat. Since then, she has done sailing in various boats.
Nora
Nora started sailing the summer before freshman year and is looking forward to continuing to sail throughout highschool with LJHS.
Coach Josh
Coach Josh graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2024 where he sailed on the Varsity Sailing Team all four years. He has been a coach at MBYC for a while. This is his second year leading the High School Sailing Team Development Program and coaching La Jolla High School. Josh sailed for the Bishops School during his high school years. An excellent sailor and coach, Josh is excited to lead this program a second year! He is a very funny coach and, in his free time, he can often be found sailing his Sunfish.
Madison
Madison, Trevor's mom, is the parent coordinator for the team and goes above and beyond for the team, including registering us for regattas, coordinating things, planning logistics, and keeping track of the team's finances. She is very organized and does so much of the off-the-water planning so we can spend our time sailing.
